The nonprofit organization looks ahead to 2022 initiatives and its 25th Anniversary Celebration SAN DIEGO, CA (January 21, 2022) - The San Diego Brewers Guild (SDBG), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting independently owned craft beer manufacturers in the region, is pleased to announce its new board of directors and president for 2022. As the organization maps out its 2022 programming and events, SDBG will celebrate 25 years of promoting San Diego County’s craft brewing community as the Capital of Craft™. “The San Diego Brewers Guild is entering its 25th year in operation, and I’m proud to be serving as president of its board of directors,” said Rick Chapman, Owner & Co-Founder of Coronado Brewing Company. “Based on survey results and direct member feedback, there’s a lot of optimism in our local craft brewing community for the future. San Diego Brewers Guild will continue to push forward marketing campaigns, educational programs, and special events that further showcase our region’s brewing innovation and talent.” Celebrating its 25-year anniversary, SDBG will have Chapman, and Haley Smith, Marketing Director at Belching Beaver Brewery, serve as President and Vice President, respectively. Virginia Morrison, CEO and Co-Founder at Second Chance Beer Co., will become President Emeritus for one year, and the SDBG board of directors welcomes four new members* from an array of segments within the craft brewing industry.

2022 Initiatives and Events To kick off its 2022 events for brewery members, SDBG will be hosting a webinar with labor and employment law firm, Jackson Lewis as well as the California Craft Brewers Association (CCBA), to discuss ‘New Year, New Laws: California Employment and other craft beer-centric law updates’ on January 27, 2022. Additionally, brewery and affiliate members may look forward to the return of ‘San Diego Craft Beer Con’ in August as well as more ‘Tap into Knowledge’ workshops throughout the year. "As we jump into the new year, we’re excited to bring back cornerstone programs, such as San Diego Beer Week and the Capital of Craft IPA this fall, for our members and craft beer enthusiasts alike to enjoy,” said Paige McWey Acers, Executive Director at SDBG. “All of our members will benefit from more networking, education, and business management workshops, organized by the San Diego Brewers Guild and our community partners throughout this year.” Additional upcoming events and programs:
