MiraCosta’s 280-hour/16 week BrewTech Program is geared to train students to be production brewers and exhibit confidence in the brewhouse, cellar, or packaging line. This MBAA recognized program is the only craft program in San Diego with a brewery on site for students to get the hands-on experience the industry requires taking it from grain to glass.
From recipe development, wort production, cellar practices and packaging we offer a well-rounded curriculum to become a turnkey brewery technician. Classroom material covers the chemistry and biology of beer production, an introduction to all the equipment found in breweries of all scales, and workplace skills. Industry tours around San Diego also introduce the students to multiple brewing applications to further tie their knowledge together. |

The program provides hands-on training for those looking to enter or already working in the brewing industry on the business side, rather than the brewing side of operations. This includes creating passionately knowledgeable management and staff in the hospitality industry to give customers a first-class experience. |
