Pizza Port Ocean Beach
The Pizza Port family of brewpubs has been a staple in the San Diego beer scene for over 35 years. They have seen brewers come and go, many of which have gone on to open their own breweries. With such a long history here in San Diego, many of their patrons feel more like family than just customers. They've seen many young groms grow into their 20s and eventually into new parents, now bringing their kids into Pizza Port the same way their parents had done with them.
If you want to taste a little bit of San Diego beer history, Pizza Port is your next destination. Jetty IPA (ABV 7.2%) is a seasonal brew with grapefruit and citrusy flavors and is their most popular beer. California Wild Ales
California Wild Ales is worth visiting if you're looking for something different in craft beer. They specialize in funky, sour barrel-aged beers that take some time to make but are well worth the wait. Using old-world brewing techniques and fresh local fruit imparts their beer with complex and tart flavors you won't find anywhere else. So if you're looking to explore the world of sour beers, check out California Wild Ales!
They also have three cute mascots which adorn their wide variety of craft beers, known as the Wildings. The little guy with two eyes is named Lacto (short for Lactobacillus), the big guy with a smile across his face is Brett (short for Brettanomyces), and the medium guy with the mischievous grin is P.D.O. (short for Pediococcus).
In celebration of Star Wars Day on May 4th, California Wild Ales released a whopping 15 unique beers for you to try! Some of these beers have been aging in barrels for around 12 months, expertly crafted and brewed to perfection.
OB-One is their flagship beer for this set and is considered their anniversary beer celebrating their first year in Ocean Beach. By resting tons of handpicked fruit on their Golden Sour for two months, they allowed the flavors to meld. This imparted passion fruit and prickly pear flavors into the beer, and blueberry gives it a slight tartness that refreshes the palate with every sip.
But it’s not all sour beer at California Wild Ales. They’ve also released their Bike Lane Lager, which features German Pilsner, malted wheat, and noble hops, including Hallertau Blanc, Magnum, and Saaz. This blend of hops imparts a clean and crisp flavor. Though relatively mild and delicate, Saaz hops impart a distinctly earthy and herbal flavor to the beer that has come to define the Pilsner.

Rincon Reservation Road Brewery - Ocean Beach
Welcome to Rincon Reservation Road Brewery, also known as 3R Brewery, San Diego's first tribally-owned and operated brewery. Rincon Reservation Road Brewery brewery originally opened its doors in January 2020, and in March of 2022, they opened a new satellite tasting room in Ocean Beach. This new tasting room extends their travel from the mountains to the coast and brings great beer inspired by their culture to an even wider audience.
The Rincon Band of Luiseno Indians has a rich history and culture reflected in everything they do at 3R Brewery. It is a way for them to pay tribute to who they are. From the sustainable ingredients they use to brew their beer to the educational opportunities they provide about their culture, The Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians can share their heritage with the world.
The mural at their Ocean Beach tasting room is a beautiful and colorful tribute to their culture. Painted by Joe Hopkins of the Muscogee Nation, it showcases the route traveled by tribal members from the Palomar Mountains to the coast, with a modern twist that incorporates OB's iconic vibes.

Named after the owners' last name, Itza is an ancient Mayan name derived from the word "Itza," which means "Water Magician." At Itza Brewing, they strive to do just that - create magic from water in the form of beer. Working in Ocean Beach certainly helps their vision, as the ocean's proximity and the vibrant community around them inspire new, creative, and fun brews.
The team behind Itza is a small husband-and-wife team who do everything themselves, from recipes to brewing, canning, label design, labeling, and delivering. They work full-time in their other jobs while slowly and steadily building up Itza Brewing. That is why they currently have no taproom, instead focusing on canning and honing their craft beer skills. They hope to open a tasting room soon, but for now, you'll just have to enjoy their beer in 16-oz cans. You can find a full list of participating stores on their website. Itza Brewing is committed to providing the highest quality craft beer to anyone, anywhere, anytime, with plans to be on tap at local restaurants soon.
Golden Wave (7.2% ABV) is the perfect balance of hoppiness and maltiness, with a pleasant bitterness and an aroma of ripe peach jam to complement the slightly malty flavor. Unclassified West Coast IPA (7.2% ABV) is a hoppy IPA with guava and passionfruit-like aroma derived from the unique hops used during the dry-hopping process.
Itza Brewing has a few upcoming releases hitting stores soon. Foggy Wave (ABV 6.2%) has fruity aromas of peach, cantaloupe, and mango that come from the hops they dry-hop the hazy with, which burst forth from the can as you drink it. Mt Laguna IPA (ABV 5.4%) is their other can release, which pays tribute to their favorite location for outdoor activities. This IPA is infused with piney and citrusy notes from Mosaic and Citra hops, making you feel like you are on a veranda of a log cabin breathing fresh mountain air while drinking an ice-cold beer.
